Gambling is
an addiction for many, and that addiction destroys lives. That
is a fact. Yet, smoking and drinking destroy lives. Eating
fast food every day destroys lives, and I could go on and on.
Is gambling any worse than
any of these problems? If it is, then maybe Las Vegas should
be shut down? Why is the focus only on online gambling? Why is
online poker so much more dangerous than playing poker in Las
Vegas?
More important, can the
government really stop online gaming or will the online
gambling industry simply create work-arounds to circumvent the
law? Will laws against online gambling simply create more
criminals whom pose little, if any, threat to other Americans?
Should online gaming be
legalized? Should all gambling be made illegal?
