With today's low voter
turnouts, would the Founding Fathers have thought a voter
holiday or a voter lottery was a good idea? Actually, who
cares what the Founding Fathers would have thought. What
do you think? Rate the ideas of a voter lottery and a
voter holiday.
Some states, such as
Arizona, are going to have a proposition on their ballot
that would create a lottery for voters. Essentially, if
you vote you are entered into a $1,000,000.00 lottery just
for voting.
In the past the idea of a
voter holiday has also been brought up. Instead of
President's Day, have Voter's Day.
Obviously, both ideas are
meant to increase voter turnout. Would these be good ways
to increase voter turnout?
Should we even try to
increase voter turnout? For those whom feel
disenfranchised with society, wouldn't getting them
involved be a good thing?
Rate whether a voter
holiday or a voter lottery would be a good thing.
