Office romance: Ever had one?

Did you keep the affair under the table?

Don't dip your pen in company ink. That's always been the word in my office. Yet, I've had an office romance that didn't lead to any problems. In fact, it mad a crappy job a little bit more enjoyable.

However, I've witnessed some pretty nasty office romances as well that led to people quitting their jobs and even some getting fired.

Is the office a good place to find your next girlfriend or boyfriend? Or is it just trouble?

"People who tend to the elderly, change diapers and serve up food and drinks have the highest rates of depression among U.S. workers," a new government study claims.

So what?

"Depression leads to $30 billion to $44 billion in lost productivity annually, said the report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration."

Then he just might be slowly killing you, ever-increasing your stress until, POP! There goes your heart. Not you? Even kids are having heart attacks these days, so it is becoming far less uncommon for those in their 30s to have a heart attack because of stress.

O.K., so, maybe your boss isn't killing you, but the stress is still ruining your quality of life. What can you do?

Detach and Depersonalize, according to experts. Then get a little exercise and maybe even a message. "In one ear and out the other," as my father used to say.
