I was just watching some coverage on CNBC about how a number of Wall Street firms are using taxpayer bailout money to fund executive bonuses. Thus, our taxpayer money is funding the bonuses of executives whom lost 100's of billions of our wealth.

According to one expert on the panel, this is because Congress left loopholes in the bailout bill, as usual. But what do members of Congress really care? The majority are millionaires, all of them are rich.

For a long time I've believed that election day should become some sort of National holiday. Skip President's Day, for example, or move it to election day.

The average American lives, barely, paycheck to paycheck - if you can call it that. We face constant worries of coming up short. In fact, it seems like we always come up short.

The average member of Congress, however, is far from coming up short. And fact, every member of Congress is rich according to the tax plans being thrown around in Congress. So, if redistribution of wealth is the big new idea in Congress, why not start with the wealth of Congressional members?

So I was walking down Colorado Blvd in Pasadena and I came across this movie set. Suddenly, the director was telling me where to stand, so I did as I was told.

Next thing I know Im standing next to Brad Pitt, and the director is again yelling at me.

Then I woke up from my little fantasy as the director yelled cut, and I was finally able to continue down the sidewalk.

Proofed my new IWEARWEED.COM tshirts afterwards . They look pretty cool. Can't wait to pick them up later this week.

Dahc is back

A virus can't hold me down

Being sick sucks. And I've been pretty good at being sick this last year. Too much drinking at 4:20, but I've only had one drink in the last few weeks. I don't miss beer at all.

Still I've struggled to get well. Today, im feeling better than I've felt in days, so I decided to get out of the house. Where I'll wander I'm not yet certain, but it won't be the bar.

Im not sure if I keep saying that because I want to believe it, or if I'm just trying to make myself believe it. Does it really matter?

I just know that I've felt weaker than I've ever felt before. Im getting old. So out with the old and in with the new. Before this world tosses me out, I want to reinvent myself. To see the world through different eyes. To challenge everything about myself.

But, hey, before I get to carried away, it's just another day in dahc.

I haven't been a South Park regular for many years. Even then, I wasn't much of a regular. I don't think I've regularly followed any TV series since Twin Peaks, maybe the first season of Seinfeld.

Let me just get this out there. I'm NOT voting for Barack Obama. Of course, I'm not voting for John McCain either. I'm going to vote for whichever third party candidate catches my fancy on election day.

Even more important, I'm voting against EVERY single incumbent in Congress up for election in my district, which I think is a far more important task than voting for President. Lest we forget, it is Congress that legislates.

Dahc does lunch in downtown LA

In my old stomping grounds

Thought I'd check out the farmer's market downtown off Fifth and Grand, since I didn't find everything I was looking for yesterday. Plus, I just needed an excuse to get out of the office, as I reported to work at 5:30 AM. So, an extended lunch was in order.

This farmer's market has such a better selection of produce than my local market, and the food vendors are pretty extensive as well. Lots of good stuff here. And it's a mid-week morning market. Love it. Since I work odd hours, these kinds of markets are a dream.

Anyway, since I was in the area I though I'd check out MOCA and walk by my old office. I spent years in this rat race and its nice to go back now and again. In a weird way I miss it.

Of course, if you read my worst day ever post, then you'll understand that I was a raving drunk around the time I first started working downtown. Not only that, but during the day I used to scour the area for quick little 420s.

So, I just finished off a pineapple tamale, and I'm trying to figure out if I need any other produce before I leave. Actually, I think I'm wondering if I can afford any more produce.

I know that buying produce locally is supposed to be better for the environment, but I could buy organic produce from Von's for significantly less. And Von's ain't cheap.

Who cares. Screw the movie. The novel Choke is worthy of a read on its own right. In fact, it's a kick ass book if you're tired of the all Hollywood bullshit that permeates the life of the average American.

And that is exactly what Choke is all about. Give up the bullshit. This could easily be one of my favorite books.

Still sick

Well, I woke up feeling a little better yesterday, so I walked down to The York for a little brunch. Saw Spencer from HGTV and almost asked for help with a project on my house. Yeah, right. Like that wouldn't have been totally cheezy.

Had a great meal at the York, but I fell off the wagon, Not that I'm really on the wagon, but I'm sick. Still, their selection of tap brews is awesome.

It's really not that cold

I haven't been drinking much the last month or so, but I had a few beers last night and woke with a cold. Damn. Out of practice already.

Of course, there was also a change in the weather here in Southern California, and it cooled down quite a bit over the night. Since I didn't drink much last night, I can only assume the cool air also played a role.
