Is Scientology about to destroy the world?

Destroyed by Scientology?

I think Tom Cruise is dead, at least as an actor, and his religion killed him. Yes, Tom has done and said some weird things because of his religious beliefs. So what? Almost anyone that has any religious affiliation has done and said some weird things in the name of religion.

What I don't get, however, is why the world is so much more concerned about Scientology than other religions. Fundamentalist Christians, Jews and Muslims seem much more of a threat to the world than Scientologists. In terms of beliefs, is Scientology really so much more far-fetched than the beliefs of other major religions?

So, what's the big deal? Is it the connection between Scientology and celebrity that causes so much interest?
