A Hemp shirt from Patagonia

I wear weed. I eat weed in my cereal. I put on weed as deodorant and lotion. In fact, weed can be made into countless commercial products.

I’m talking about hemp, not marijuana, and I’m serious.

I have a few pairs of hemp shoes, quite a few hemp shirts – from t-shirts to button ups – and I also have a pair of hemp pants. I love my weed.

Unfortunately, such products cost more in the US because it is illegal to grow hemp in the US just because it resembles marijuana. But not all weeds are equal. It doesn’t matter that you can’t get high smoking hemp. Apparently, looks can kill.

Sad because hemp is a plant that, well, grows like a weed. It needs less water than plants like corn or cotton, and it can often be grown without any pesticides or fertilizers. Weed is a natural global warming fighter and it has massive commercial and industrial potential.

Yet, hemp is illegal to grow.

Thus, I wear it and use it as much as possible as a form of protest.
