Should the drinking age be lowered?

Could it reduce binge drinking?

There is a move spreading in the Nation's college system to lower the drinking age. Advocates claim that students on college campuses are drinking regardless of the drinking age, but because they cannot go to clubs and bars, they are instead binge drinking at beer keg parties (I know I did when I was in college).

Critics say 18 years of age might be a fine age to serve your country with a lethal weapon and even die during duty, but it isn't an old enough age to handle the right to drink. It will just lead to too many problems. Too much drunk driving.

There is no doubt that reducing the drinking age would lead to some problems, especially at first. Nonetheless, if America can't start getting adults to act like adults once they become an adult, then the drinking age really doesn't matter, does it?

Rate the drinking age. Should it be lowered to 18?
