Can BlackBerry Bold catch the iPhone
August 14th, 2008
A Bold new 3G phoneI love the iPhone's web browser. It alone makes it the best phone available for a user like me, a user that uses a smartphone largely for Internet access. Sure, other smartphones have decent web browsers, but none nearly as good as the iPhone. Unfortunately, the iPhone's restricted file structure access is a serious problem for users like me as well. So, I basically need two telephones. Anyway, for the average phone consumer, the iPhone is a highly coveted luxury item, offering more functionality than most users need. For business users, the iPhone has become a legitimate option, but the BlackBerry is still tops and will remain there for some time. But, can Blackberry challenge the iPhone and woo average consumers? The new BlackBerry will offer a 2 mexapixel camera with video record, a music player, WiFi and GPS, in addition to a beautiful new screen, but is that enough? No way. The only chance BlackBerry will have is on pricing. Still, the Bold could ensure that few business users move from BlackBerry to Apple. |
