Rate El Torito in Pasadena, CA

A good place for Mexican food

I go to El Torito in Pasadena every time I shop at Best Buy. Is it because El Torito has some of the best Mexican food in Pasadena? No.

Let's be honest. This is Southern California. I can find some of the best Mexican food, at the cheapest prices, at one of my local taco trucks. Still, sometimes you want sit down at a comfortable restaurant and have an Americanized-version of Mexican food.

And, if I'm going to be honest, I have to say I love the Mexican salad at El Torito and the tacos, especially the chicken. But, what I really go to El Torito for is the Cantina. Good beer and great specials, such as $1.00 tacos on Tuesdays make El Torito a worthy stop if your thirsty and in East Pasadena.

Ultimately, the food isn't bad at El Torito and they've recently done a nice remodel. Surely, it's not the place for authentic Mexican food, but most chains are not. In the past I've had very poor service at this El Torito, but things have changed for the better during my last few visits.
