Cool to be a vegetarian?I used to be a vegetarian, and I think about becoming a vegetarian almost every day. In fact, a few days each week I don't eat any meat. But what does 'meat' mean, and how does it relate to being a vegetarian? The other day I was at a bar and the lady next to me asked if I had ever tried anything on the menu, but she was a vegetarian she warned. So, I stared making vegetarian recommendations. "What about the calamari," she asked? I told her it was pretty good. Then she asked about the thai chicken pizza. "It's pretty good," I told her, "and I bet it would be just as good without the chicken." "Oh, I eat chicken," she responded. i just don't eat meat. A damn chicken breast ain't a vegetable, is it? I'm pretty sure it's the muscle and fat of a chicken, just as steak is the muscle of a cow. Yet, you can eat chicken and still call yourself a vegetarian? What? I'd say that people whom eat eggs might still be able to call themselves vegetarians, but that is as far as you can stretch that topic. If you eat animal muscle, then you eat meat and you are not a vegetarian. Just because you don't eat red meat does not make you a vegetarian. So, why do chicken eaters call themselves vegetarians? Does it make you ohhhh so cool? The lady I talked to seemed to proud of the fact that she was a vegetarian, yet she ISN'T a vegetarian. Poser Nation? Rate faux vegetarians. Even worse than meatatarians?
