Is a voter holiday a good idea?

Should voters take election day off? For a long time I've believed that election day should become some sort of National holiday. Skip President's Day, for example, or move it to election day. Even better, make Voter's day a paid holiday, but ONLY if you vote. Ultimately, it isn't that voting alone is so important for this holiday. It's the interaction and conversation that could be driven by a voter's holiday. In my opinion, politicians - both Democrat and Republican - are failing the people. A voter's holiday could be a step towards changing that. Rate a voter's holiday - Is it a good idea? |
