| I'm already
thinking about skipping the Super Bowl - in terms of watching
it. I mean, why? There hasn't been one interesting playoff game
thus far. All I've been waiting for is just one great game in
these playoffs, but I have yet to see it. Every single game has
essentially been over before halftime.
Is that parity? Is this
the best of the NFL?
If this is the best, then I say
it's time for me to get another hobby. I feel like every playoff
game should be a nail-biter, or at least every other game, yet
not ONE game has been even close to a nail-biter this entire NFL
playoff season.
Still new players make
millions more per year than the year before and ticket
prices continually rise, yet the quality of the competition
decreases?
Isn't that some kind of
oxymoron?
Sure, one of your teams might
be winning so that keeps you into it, but as a football
fan, I can't remember a crappier playoffs. The only thing
interesting about the playoffs thus far has been the officiating
- only because it has been so bad.
Even in the Seahawk, Carolina
game, a no-call, picked-up-flag for clipping is the
only thing that could keep the game remotely entertaining
until halftime. It's almost as if the officiating has had to be leveraged
by the NFL just to keep the playoff games close - I mean
they need to keep the fans around for at least the half-time
commercials.
What the hell is wrong with the
NFL?
Just yesterday, I was lamenting
over the fact that I was going to miss football. Today, I still
say I'm going to miss football.......college football. I'm
already over the NFL and the season isn't yet even over.
If this is the best of the NFL,
then I say the NFL can kiss my ass.
Teams like Indianapolis give up
the last few games of the season because they mean nothing and
they don't want to risk injury. And where is Indianapolis
now?
In the Super Bowl, 30 second
ads are going to cost millions. Is that what the NFL is about,
advertising revenue?
It's funny, Jerome Bettis did
his after-game-interview during the halftime of the Seahwaks/Carolina
game and asked "Did everyone enjoy the game?"
Hell no I didn't enjoy the
game. I'm still waiting for just ONE GOOD PLAYOFF GAME.
Screw the NFL and the Super
Bowl, I'm not giving them any more of my money or my attention
this year.
