| "Blindly
lending support to our soldiers, I fear, will keep them overseas
longer by giving soft acquiescence to the hawks who sent them
there — and who might one day want to send them somewhere
else. Trust me, a guy who thought 50.7% was a mandate isn't
going to pick up on the subtleties of a parade for just service
in an unjust war. He's going to be looking for funnel
cake."
The above is taken from Joel's
article, Warriors and
wusses, in which Joel
states, I DON'T SUPPORT our troops. (more)
Trust you, Joel? As a rule, I
don't trust self-admitted rich boys who have never had to work
for a single thing in their lives, especially when they talk
about Vietnam.
I save the Vietnam talk for the
people that have actually lived through it. You were possibly
sucking your mom's tit during Vietnam, yet you speak of Vietnam as
if you are some expert.
I hope some day that you get to
meet some of the troops you don't support.
Nice 50.7% mandate, Joel.
Actually, when we live in a country where those that don't vote
outnumber the voters of either party, there really isn't such a
thing as a mandate in modern, American politics.
But what do you care,
Joel?
"I know this is all easy
to say for a guy who grew up with money, did well in school and
hasn't so much as served on jury duty for his country."
Surprise, surprise, a rich
elitist working for the Los Angeles Times? Who woulda thunk it?
